The payment was successful, and your transfer is on its way to the recipient. If your recipient has already set up their Alipay account to receive transfers, they should see the money in just a few moments. If your transfer is pending for longer than that, there could be a few reasons.
Your recipient doesn't have a card linked to their Alipay account.
To receive a transfer through Alipay, the recipient needs to link a card issued by a Chinese bank to their Alipay account. To help them with the card-linking process, you may share the official instructions in English (https://render.alipay.com/p/c/k6r8dy25) or Chinese (https://render.alipay.com/p/c/k6r3ebho).
Your recipient needs to submit additional data to verify their Alipay account.
Sometimes, Alipay may need to verify some of the personal data of your recipient. They will not be able to receive transfers through Alipay until the verification is completed successfully. To check if Alipay requested additional data, ask your recipient to log into their Alipay account and look for notifications or contact Alipay Support for help.
Please note:
- The recipient will have 72 hours to link a card and/or submit the necessary information. Otherwise, the transfer will be canceled automatically, and the money will be returned to you.
- Transfers through Alipay are supported to Chinese citizens only. If your recipient is not a Chinese citizen, the transfer will be canceled on the 4th calendar day.
