Soon after the transfer is declined, you should receive an Interac email and an SMS with a security code. To accept the refund:
- Find the Interac email and follow the link to accept the deposit.
- Log into your bank's personal account.
- Enter the security code from the SMS to confirm the acceptance of the refund.
- Wait for the funds to be reflected in your bank account within a few minutes.
Please note:
You will have 7 calendar days to accept a refund via Interac. Otherwise, it will fail on the 8th calendar day.
Can't find the Interac email?
Check the 'Spam' and 'Promo' folders.
Didn't get the SMS with a security code?
Make sure that your mobile reception is stable and that you are able to receive SMS messages. Rebooting your device might also help in some cases.
If you have the 'Auto-Deposit' option enabled, the money will be returned automatically in just a few minutes.
