Most transfers are completed within minutes, but some banks may take up to 3 business days to credit the money to your recipient’s account. This depends on how the receiving bank processes international or online money transfers.
If the transfer hasn’t arrived within this time frame, you can share the Retrieval Reference Number (RRN) with your recipient and ask them to contact their bank to track the payment.
What is an RRN?
The Retrieval Reference Number (RRN) is a unique code that helps banks trace card transactions. It confirms that Paysend’s money transfer service has successfully delivered the payment to the receiving bank.
How to find the RRN:
- Open the 'Transfers' tab in the Paysend app and locate the transfer in question.
- Tap 'Help & More' in the top-right corner.
- Choose 'Proof of Delivery'.
- Tap 'Copy RRN' and share it with your recipient.
How can your recipient track the transfer?
Ask your recipient to contact their bank and request that they trace the transfer using the RRN. They should also provide the transfer amount (in their local currency) and the transfer date, which you can find on your transfer details page.
Example email your recipient can use:
Hello,
I’m following up on a transfer to my card that I’m expecting. The payment was sent through Paysend, but it hasn’t yet appeared in my account.
The merchant has provided the following Retrieval Reference Number (RRN) to help you locate the transaction:
- RRN: [_______________]
- Amount: [XX.XX] [Currency]
- Transfer Date: [DD/MM/YYYY]
- Last 4 digits of the card number: [1234]
Could you please check your records using this RRN and confirm the status of the transfer?
Thank you for your help.
If your recipient’s bank still cannot locate the funds after checking, please contact Paysend Customer Support so that we can review the international money transfer on our side.
