When you add a new card, you’ll need to verify it before you can use it to make transfers with Paysend. This quick step helps keep your online money transfers secure and ensures the card belongs to you.
Paysend will make a small temporary charge — usually between 0.50 and 2.50 USD — which will be refunded once the verification is complete.
Follow these simple steps to verify your card:
- Find the verification charge.
Check your banking app or online banking, or look for an SMS notification from your bank showing the withdrawal amount. - Note the withdrawal amount.
The three digits of this amount are your verification code. - Enter the verification amount.
Go back to the Paysend app or website, open the transfer page from your transfer history, press ‘Verify card’, and enter the exact amount.
Once verified, you’ll see a confirmation message — ‘Card verified’ — and you’ll be able to continue your transfer.
Important details:
- You have 12 hours to complete the verification. If it’s not done in time, the transfer will be automatically canceled.
- The verification amount will be refunded within a few minutes, but in rare cases, it may take up to 3 business days.
- If you remove your card from your linked list, you’ll need to verify it again before using it in the future.
What if the verification amount is over 2.50 USD?
If you see a higher amount, your bank may have applied a small fee. Contact your bank to confirm if any fees for card verification were charged. Subtract that fee from the total withdrawal amount — the result will be your Paysend verification amount.
What is a business day?
Business days are when banks are open — typically Monday to Friday. Weekends and public holidays aren’t counted as business days, so payments or refunds made during these times may take a little longer to appear.
