Tip: To receive money automatically in real time, consider registering for 'Autodeposit' in your online banking service. You can find the instructions here.
When a sender chooses Interac as the delivery option for a transfer to Canada, they need to enter their recipient's full name and email address. As soon as the sender's transfer payment is confirmed, an Interac email is sent to the recipient's email address.
If a recipient has the 'Autodeposit' option enabled, the funds will be credited automatically immediately after your payment is processed.
To manually receive an Interac transfer, the recipient of the funds should do the following:
- Find the Interac email and accept the deposit by logging into their bank account.
- Enter the security code provided by you to accept the deposit. Here's how you can find the code:
- SMS message: You will receive an SMS with the code sent to the mobile number your Paysend account is registered to.
- Paysend account: Find the transfer in the transfer history, click on it, and press the 'Notify your recipient' button to reveal the code.
- Wait for the funds to be reflected in the bank account within a few minutes.
What if the recipient can't find the Interac email?
- Ensure the correctness of the email address:
- Find the transfer in the transfer history and click on it.
- Scroll down the transfer page.
- Check the entered email address in the 'Delivery' line.
- The recipient might need to check the 'Spam' and 'Promo' folders.
Please note:
A transfer to a Canadian bank account via Interac can be accepted within 7 calendar days after the Interac email is delivered to the recipient. Otherwise, it will be canceled on the 8th calendar day, and the funds will be returned to the sender.
