When sending money to China via Alipay for the first time, please keep in mind the following:
- Linking a bank card: Your recipient will need to link their card to Alipay by following the instructions provided in English and Chinese.
- Document verification: Alipay may ask the recipient to upload some information to verify their account.
- Action within 3 days: Ask your recipient in China to link the card and provide the details to Alipay within this timeframe.
- Stay updated: If you notice that your transfer is still pending, ask the recipient to log into their Alipay account to check for any alerts or requests.
- Automatic cancellation: Remember, if the card isn't linked or the necessary details aren't provided to Alipay, the transfer will be automatically canceled on the 4th day.
In the future, the funds will be automatically transferred to the recipient's linked bank card (unless additional verification is needed), making the process much easier.
